چکیده

Betacellulin (BTC) is a peptide ligand that belongs to the epidermal growth factor family, members of which are implicated in skin morphogenesis, homeostasis, repair, and angiogenesis; however, role BTC regulation barrier remains unknown so far. To examine function, we analysed data from two independent Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets evaluated effects on primary human keratinocytes using real-time PCR, Western blot transepidermal electrical resistance (TER), functional parameter monitor tight junction barrier. We found gene expression was higher lesions patients with atopic dermatitis (AD), this upregulated following biological treatments, suggesting levels might be biomarker for therapy AD. Moreover, stimulation different cytokines, observed mRNA significantly exclusively inhibited by Th2 cytokines such as IL-4 IL-13, play pivotal pathogenesis Furthermore, specific inhibitors receptor protein kinase C abolished BTC-mediated improvement junction-related proteins, including claudin-1 ZO-1 suppressed TER keratinocyte monolayers. Importantly, recovered increased permeability IL-4/IL-13-treated keratinocytes. Together, propose novel potential therapeutic target treatment diseases characterized overproduction dysfunctional

Epidermal growth factor receptor variant III-induced glioma invasion is mediated through myristoylated alanine-rich protein kinase C substrate overexpression.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and most malignant adult brain tumor. A characteristic of GBM is their highly invasive nature, making complete surgical resection impossible. The most common gain-of-function alteration in GBM is amplification, overexpression, and mutations of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). The constitutively activated mutant EGFR variant III (EGFRv...

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Pathway

Erlotinib is an orally small molecule inhibiting the tyrosine kinase activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Currently, erlotinib, at a standard oral daily dose of 150 mg, is licensed for the treatment of unselected recurrent non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, however, it is being investigated in all stages of NSCLC. Erlotinib is well tolerated, with common toxicities...

Epidermal growth factor induces vasoconstriction through the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-mediated mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway in hypertensive rats.

We investigated whether increased contractile responsiveness to epidermal growth factor (EGF) is associated with altered activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) in the aortic smooth muscle of deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt hypertensive rats. EGF induced contraction and MAPK activity in aortic smooth muscle strips, which were significantly increased in tissues from the DOC...

Altered Expression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) in Glioma

EGFR is a key molecule in cancer cells. EGFR signaling was shown to promote tumor cell proliferation and survival, invasion and angiogenesis and mediate resistance to treatment, including ionizing radiation in preclinical models. We extracted proteins from astrocytoma (III and IV) oligodendroglioma(IV) tumors and normal brain tissues and then evaluated the protein purity by Bradford test ...
